With less than 24 hours to go until some of the biggest announcements for Mobile this year, people interests are piqued, and excitement is high in anticipation of what Samsung and some of the other OEMs have to show us all at this year’s MWC event. Samsung will most likely be the talk of the town when it comes to all other device announcements, but that shouldn’t surprise anyone as they usually make their stuff a “big to do” so as to stay in the limelight. They won’t be putting on as quite of an extravagant display as they did at last years Unpacked event, which is more or less a good thing since they focused heavily on putting on a grand show instead of highlighting the Galaxy S 4’s strong points. Samsung says they won’t be doing that this year.
We’ve heard almost everything under the sun when it comes to rumors of features and specs, until we hear about the major stuff though we have a little bit of information in regards to the Samsung’s “next big thing”, as Sammobile was able to get their hands on some images and a hands on video of the Gear 2 by way of instagram, which the Galaxy S 5 ended up photobombing. There was a slew of content that was available earlier but it seems that the images as well as the video were removed from the users instagram account who took them, but we still at least have the main image to look at which does display the color variants we’ve heard about for the Galaxy S5 when it launches. Following the current trend for most OEMs we see a Galaxy S5 clad in Gold, and sitting next to it are models colored in Black and White, which we’ve heard rumors about as well. The main focus of the shot seems to be on the Gear 2 which looks to have its Tizen refresh, but the user that took the photo looks like they may have tried to sneak the Galaxy S 5 devices into the shot. The interesting part about the image is the “unknown element” that is resting below the camera. The LED Flash is clearly visible, but the entire space is much too wide for just the LED flash, and we can see a dark segment right next to it. Since we haven’t really heard much about such a feature of the phone, it makes us wonder even more what the Galaxy S 5 has to offer. Unpacked 5 is only around half a day away so we’ll know soon enough.
