Galaxy S 5 Rumored To Have Fancy Lock Screen Animation

Thus far we have heard about plenty of rumors in regards to Samsung’s new Flagship device, the Galaxy S5. Everything from the processor, to the camera, to body material, and screen size has been discussed, speculated, and hinted at. We should be finding out all there is to know about the Galaxy S5 once Samsung begins their Unpacked 5 press event just before Mobile World Congress officially begins, one thing we haven’t really heard anything about though are specific UI traits or features. More precisely, the lock screen. Samsung made a huge push to deliver a more nature inspired design and natural feel with the Galaxy S 3 and the Galaxy S 4, and other devices like the Note 2 and Note 3, right down to the lock screen with the animation and the unlock sound.

According to Korean sources, the new lock screen animation on the Galaxy S 5 will be somewhat different then what we have come to see from previous devices with the ripple animation. The images shows the lock screen captured mid unlock which is certainly nothing we haven’t seen before, but custom animations aren’t hard to load on a device, and so far we might as well treat this as such, and call it a custom job. At least until we know more or hear something official. However, if this does end up being the lock screen animation used on the new S5, it doesn’t look half bad an we have to wonder what other options Samsung might add in. Other rumors about a new version of the infamous Touch Wiz UI  that we have come to know on virtually all Samsung’s Android phones have been circulating, and who’s to say that Samsung didn’t want to refresh all parts of the UI? Such an undertaking would warrant a new lock screen animation among other things, which wouldn’t be a bad thing, and also might help Samsung’s new device feel more innovative.

You can check out the new animation captured in the image, and there has been a video posted up to YouTube demonstrating the supposed new lock screen in action. After watching it, we think the animation looks pretty cool and we’re hoping to see this on the S5, or at least something new that may be like it. What do you think about the potential new animation? Are you fond of the current ones we see on Samsung devices now or are their phones due for a change in this department?http://youtu.be/D5_-d2q4HTA
