Here's A Look At The Huawei Ascend G6

Thanks to @evleaks we’ve seen some rather interesting images and spec leaks about HTC’s next upcoming handset, although this next leak has nothing to do with HTC. @evleaks has just leaked an image that shows off a set of one of Huawei’s next smartphone, the Ascend G6. The image shows the device coming in a variation of different colors, of which we can see, white, Gold, Pink, and Blue, as well as black, which you can see on the right side of the image. Each phone color seems to come with a slightly different colored rim also, to go better with the color on the back. The image leaks had nothing else to go along with it, so there weren’t any new specs or features to ponder or salivate over.

When it comes to specs though, we really don’t know anything official but there are rumors floating around on what the phone will have. The Ascend G6 is said to be a lighter version of the P6 device offered by Huawei, and will be powered by a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Memory wise the device is said to have 1GB of RAM at the users disposal, so it won’t be the most powerful device, but it’s not aiming to be either, as it’s said to be targeted at emerging markets. The G6 should be fairly slim, so it will have no problem fitting in pockets of any kind with it measuring at only 7.5mm thick. It’s also said to have an 8MP rear camera for main image capturing, and a 5MP camera for all the video chat and selfies you could ever need. It’s also rumored to be running Android 4.2 out of box, which is a bit of a let down that it’s not something newer.

It should have a microSD card slot for expandable storage, but there hasn’t been any mention about what we can expect out of Huawei in the way of internal storage for the G6. There also hasn’t been any mention of a price point or exact release date. More details are most likely poised to arise as we enter the Mobile World Congress event next week, but until then we can all stare at the photos that @evleaks has posted up.
