Huawei isn’t the most well known brand name in some parts of the world, but it still retains popularity in its home country of China for a good reason. Huawei’s phones range from budget-friendly to power-packing models and everything in between, and it looks like their 2014 lineup is starting to really come together. We saw the Ascend Six just the other week and it looks like its shaping up to be the first big flagship from Huawei this year. They are also trying their hand at some new devices like the 7-inch smartphone that’s apparently making its debut sooner rather than later, but is still yet unnamed. Now it looks like Huawei’s going to be coming out with another addition to their P-series of phones, which are a more standard size for smartphones nowadays. The Ascend P7 can be seen pictured above and below, and seems to sport a similar look to the Ascend P6 but with a different material on its backside.
Of course since that’s all we’re seeing here in these leaks we really can’t tell just how similar the P7 is going to be to the P6, but we do have an idea of what the specs are going to look like. Sticking with industry standards the Ascend P7 looks to be sporting a 5-inch 1080p display and will be running on Huawei’s EmotionUI 2.0 Android skin. No word on whether or not the P7 will run Android 4.4 KitKat or not, but given that the 7-inch phone and the upcoming Ascend P6s are both running Android 4.2.2, I wouldn’t exactly count on it. You’ll be snapping pictures on a 13MP sensor located on the top left portion of the back of the device, and the device itself should be powered by a 1.6GHz HiSilicon chipset that’s made in-house at Huawei. All this is running off a 2,460mAh battery, which should be enough to get through a standard day’s use for many. What does this offer over the upcoming P6s you ask? Well it’s possible that this could be the phone to debut that new octa-core processor that was rumored for the P6S initially, and of course you’re getting a screen that’s 0.3 inches bigger too in addition to being a 1080p display over the 720p display in the P6S.
