Motorola also confirmed today that the Moto X is heading to other parts of the world very shortly. During their panel at MWC today, Motorola confirmed that the Moto X is heading to India and Australia in the next few weeks. While we already heard that MotoMaker is heading over to Western Europe and Mexico next quarter. Which means we will probably only see the black and white Moto X’s in India and Australia when they finally launch. Hopefully they won’t be too pricey, as the Moto X is about 6 months old already.
The Moto X was announced last August in New York City. And actually shocked a lot of people. It came with a 4.7-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core processor with Motorola’s X8 Mobile Computing platform, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, a 2200mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 at launch. It has since been updated to Android 4.4.2. What will be interesting though is what version of Android will the Moto X in India and Australia launch on? When it launched in Europe, I believe it launched on Android 4.2.2, and got the update to Android 4.4.2 shortly after, and the same with the Moto G launches on other prepaid carriers and regions. So we’ll have to keep an eye out for that.
Motorola is also planning to release the next Moto X in late summer. And that’s about all we’ve got on that front.
Motorola is still taking questions, so we may see some more news come out of this panel from them in Barcelona, so make sure you stay tuned to Android Headlines for all the information regarding Motorola. They are also talking about the Lenovo purchase which still hasn’t closed. So there’s not a whole lot that they can say there, but it does sound pretty exciting for both brands. How many of you in India and Australia are excited to see the Moto X finally make it’s way over to your area? Let us know in the comments below.
