Need More Battery for your Moto X? Mugen's 2800mAh Case Should Help

The Moto X does have some great battery life. Especially for a 4.7-inch phone with a 2200mAh battery inside. Although I’ve noticed since upgrading to KitKat on my Moto X, that the battery isn’t as good as it used to be. So how do we fix that? Just get a bigger battery, right? Sure why not.

Today, Mugen announced a new battery case for the Moto X that has a 2800mAh battery inside to help keep your Moto X going longer. This means, your Moto X would have a 5000mAh battery inside. Which is pretty cool to have, just ask those with Zero Lemon batteries, they have a 10,000mAh battery for the Note 3. Mugen is selling this new case for a whopping $89.50. So it’s definitely not cheap and so far it’s only available on Mugen’s website. Hopefully it comes to Amazon and other retailers soon though.

As expected, the case will add some bulk to your Moto X. But if you care enough to spend nearly $90 on a case with a big battery inside, then you probably aren’t too worried about the added bulk. So far there’s no word on how much more battery life it’ll provide your Moto X, but we should in theory get double the battery life we had with the stock battery. Which is definitely nothing to sneeze at.

According to Mugen’s site, the battery case is available for pre-order now and should start shipping on March 14th. Is there anyone out there that is really looking at picking up this case for their Moto X? It looks kinda ugly, and if you got a MotoMaker Moto X, you’d be covering up that beautiful design you waited nearly a week to get. Such a tough decision. How many of you are going to pick one up?
