Just ahead of Mobile World Congress, LG announced a bunch of new low-end and mid-range devices in their L and F lineup. According to @Evleaks, who has gotten a press image of the LG L90 with a T-Mobile logo on the back. The LG L90 is actually a pretty adequate phone for someone that just needs a phone to work. It has a 4.7-inch 960×540 resolution IPS display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8MP camera on the back, 1.3MP front-facing shooter. It also has a physical home button, as well as a back and menu key. Similar to what the LG Optimus G Pro had on it. It’s also running on Android 4.4 KitKat with LG’s Optimus UI on board
The interesting thing about the L90 is that it can be used with LG’s Quick Window Smart covers, which has a small window that allows you to check the time, incoming calls, notifications and more without actually opening the cover. Which is cool, but I wonder how many people actually use it?
Obviously the LG L90 isn’t a high-spec’d smartphone. But for a low-end or even mid-ranger, it’s pretty good. I’d expect to see T-Mobile put this in with their prepaid offerings, or even with their postpaid offerings, as I’m sure the monthly fee for the LG L90 would be pretty low, as it should be around $300 outright, or less hopefully.
It’s great to see more and more LG smartphones make their way into the US, especially on carriers. Even though the LG L90 isn’t a fantastic phone, it’s still capable and is good enough for someone like your parents or even a teenager that doesn’t need something like the G2 or G Pro 2. How many of you are thinking about grabbing the LG L90 for someone that’s not as into technology as you or I am? Let us know in the comments down below.
