It looks like we’re getting our very first impressions of the next upcoming device from Nvidia, a new note tablet that is powered by the awesome graphics powerhouse known as the Tegra K1 chip. Nvidia unveiled and demoed this new Tegra chip at CES last month, and gave a very impressive display of the real power behind it that could be used for graphics processing for games and other uses during their event. Nvidia already has a couple devices on the market, with their Nvidia S.H.I.E.L.D. and their EVGA Tegra Note 7 Tablet, which are both sporting the Tegra 4 processor, Nvidia’s current generation chip and GPU setup. This next tablet is listed on the Antutu Benchmarks with the next generation Tegra K1, which should be a sizeable little upgrade.
The upcoming tablet from Nvidia will more than likely be marketed to and geared towards gamers and people that have a need for on the go graphics design, and will need the power behind the product to allow them such luxuries. This upcoming Tegra Note tablet houses the next generation Tegra K1 chip, has 16GB of onboard storage for things like games, photos, apps, etc. It comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of box, which is great to see a tablet as up to date as possible these days, instead of coming with 4.3 like some other devices first, then getting an update later. It’ll also sports 2GB of RAM so multi tasking and gaming should be no problem whatsoever. The screen looks to have a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, but the screen size itself is not listed, nor is the addition or quality of the camera.
Other then the aforementioned specs above from the Antutu Benchmarks, there is nothing else to sink our teeth into with this latest device from Nvidia. The specs and images from the benchmarks were leaked through the Antutu website, so as we do with all leaks we reserve judgement usually until we get some sort of word from the company themselves. in this case, from Nvidia. Seeing as how the K1 Chip was just announced last month, we probably won’t see a device running it for a while, and that more than likely includes this next gen Tegra Note. With that being said, there is a good chance that the benchmarks could be even better then they are shown here.
