As smartphones become more advanced the drive to make them ever more personalized becomes stronger, and OEMs are doing all that they can to make this experience apparent to the consumers who buy their products. Samsung tends to add in plenty of features and apps to their devices to offer up a wealth of content and give customers plenty to be excited about when they move into a new Galaxy device. While many people love all these features, plenty of people see it as extra baggage or bloatware that they would rather do without. In either case, Samsung wants to make what comes on your phone more personalized, almost as if you might have loaded the phone up with content and apps yourself. They want to make the phone “more you”. At least, to some degree.
Samsung plans to do this by helping to preload personalized apps and content for customers who buy new Samsung Galaxy devices at Samsung retail stores, which sounds a lot like the personalization part of things will be handled by the employees helping those customers at the point of sale. In reality it doesn’t sound like it is any different then what some carrier store sales people already do for the customer to help ease them into a new device, which is usually accomplished by asking personalized questions to help fit them into something that they can make the most of and enjoy. Rather then pre-loading apps on an individual level, apps and content might be preloaded as part of a bundle package that is set up, and based off of the answers sales people get from asking personalized questions, customers will perhaps be buying a new Galaxy device with a certain bundle package that is tailored to them. Samsung is reportedly working with third party developers to offer this content to consumers who buy the devices, so we could end up seeing some decent apps and content preloaded that might otherwise cost money.
