Recently, the Dutch retailer Typhone has shown a listing of the Samsung Galaxy S5 on their website. Take this with a grain of salt as the accuracy of these listings is usually questionable due to the fact that it could just be a place marker for when the official phone gets released. But, it looks like this is a listing for the lower end model having a regular 1080p display. The listing cites a 16mp camera and a full HD screen. If you’re a Samsung Galaxy S Series Smartphone user then you’ve got to be pretty stoked about Samsung’s upcoming announcements concerning their upcoming new flagship the Samsung Galaxy S5. Samsung has been improving on it’s top selling phone every time and this time looks to be no different. They are hopefully going to show the world that they have not been idle during the time that the world has been getting their fill of the Samsung Galaxy S4. What’s coming to users should have them pretty excited.
We’ve covered the various alleged specs of this future release in previous articles and, as we get closer to the official announcement, we grow expectant to what it will feature. This will be the 5 installment in the Galaxy S series. Most Galaxy S4 owners enjoy their phones, so I’m sure that the latest version will be just as pleasing. Reasons why they have something to look forward to is an alleged 16 MP camera or 20MP AF Camera (depending on your source), a 5.25-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM to turn those apps over, 2MP front-facing camera and most importantly a 3000mAh battery to power all of that gorgeous screen. With all of that under the cover, it would look to be a pretty promising phone right? I’d like to show you something.
The hits keep coming with this phones possible specs. It is funny to think back to when the first Samsung Galaxy S was released. They have come a long way from the original June 2010 Galaxy that grabbed the attention of the world over. Back then, the Galaxy S came with a 4.0-inch display, Android 2.3 (Android Gingerbread OS), a WVGA 480x400px screen, a Samsung Exynos 3110 1Ghz Single Core processor (or ARM Cortex A8), with 500MB of RAM, a 5MP camera and 0.3MP front facing camera, had a 1500 mAh battery and was only 3G capable. That is just to name a few of the beginning specs. Think about that. That’s what it all STARTED with! And look at how far Samsung Galaxy S has come over the years to just 4 years later the powerhouse that is about to get released.
The thought of it makes me anxious to see and hold the latest and greatest from the Android power phone maker, Samsung. I’ve tried a lot of different Android phones over the years, either from ownership or testing friends’ devices. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, but I have always been continually impressed by Samsung’s offerings. It won’t be long before we know all about this phone after the official announcement on February 24th at the Samsung “Unpacked” event.
