The Galaxy S5 is here. It’s here with mixed reactions from fans. Some like it, some hate it. Which is kind of expected with Samsung’s devices. The Galaxy S5 has some pretty good specs, although not much has changed from the Galaxy Note 3 or even the Galaxy S4. But how does it stack up to the LG G2, Sony Xperia Z2 and the HTC One? Well we put together a nice looking table showing you all the specs side-by-side so you can see just how good it is.
You’ll notice that all of these are sporting a Snapdragon 800-series processor, except for the HTC One. The rest of the specs are pretty similar. Including the battery sizes, screen size and size. All four are also running Android 4.4 KitKat, which is definitely nice to see. The Galaxy S5 is a nice looking device, well to most people, and it’s still a powerhouse, even if it’s specs aren’t all that improved from most 2013 smartphones and tablets. Samsung has also scaled back Touchwiz a bit and given it a nice new UI which is flatter and the icons are now round. Which is also great to see. All the other OEMs have done huge overhauls on their skins in the past year or two, with Samsung being the final manufacturer to follow suit.
So have a look at the table down below and compare all the specs. Obviously we didn’t factor in the pricing because we don’t know the pricing for the Galaxy S5 just yet, but it’ll probably be around $199 on contract and $550 off-contract. We’ll find out more pricing details as we get closer to April when the Galaxy S5 launches in the US and 150 other countries through out April and May.
