Say Hello To Two New Features In OmniRom; Meet Audio Themes And OmniSwitch

For those of you that like customizations and feature tweaking in your ROM of choice, the developers behind OmniRom are giving you one more reason to go ahead and give their Rom a try. OmniRom is already fairly popular, and it already has a fairly extensive set of things you can do do to customize and tweak the device to your liking, but that didn’t stop the devs from putting even more stuff into the ROM for us. Thanks to the teams hard work and dedication, we can say hello to two new features within OmniRom, which are the Audio Themes, and OmniSwitcher, which is an app switcher of sorts.

The Audio Themes sound like a great feature, and there’s a reason why. The idea of being able to swap out different system sounds for sound packs that you prefer or enjoy a little more is just awesome. If you don’t like the way your shutter sounds when snapping a photo, that’s ok. Because if you run OmniRom, you can soon use the sound packs to change out the system sounds you don’t care for, and in turn get a shutter sound that you actually like. Right now, the feature is not part of the current build but should be coming very soon. So if you were wanting to partake in this feature right away, the sad news is that you can’t just yet.

As for the OmniSwitcher feature, this feature is currently available and you can get it by using the latest nightly build of OmniRom. Think of OmniSwitcher like your app switcher on steroids. It does much more than the standard app switcher. It contains the recent apps stuff you’re used to seeing in most Android phones now, but goes the extra mile with a “app favorites” as well as a set of buttons that you can use to complete different actions like switch to the last app you used. To open up the OmniSwitcher all you have to do is swipe from the side of the display on your home screen, and out pops the switcher window panel much like you would see on HALO. The OmniSwitcher is definitely a sweet feature add into the ROM, but the audio themes is arguably the better one of the two. If you’re going to be switching to OmniROM now because of the audio themes, let us know what you think once they’re available.http://www.androidauthority.com/omnirom-sound-themes-and-omniswitch-341912/
