Sony to Release Xperia Z2 Ultra Alongside Xperia Z2 According to Leak

Sony’s really been stepping up their game over the last year, and it looks like it’s about to hit the next level very soon.  Last year we were graced with quite a few Xperia Z product lines including the Xperia Z and Z1 phones, the Xperia Z Ultra phablet and the Xperia Tablet Z.  Ever since the Xperia Z1s launched on T-Mobile last month we’ve seen rumors of a possible Xperia Z2 running around the internets, and it looked like a pretty decent upgrade to an already pretty amazing phone.  The Sony Sirius D6503, or better known as the Xperia Z2 in many circles, now looks like it’s part of a larger lineup of devices from Sony, and appears to be another attempt to unify their lineup and provide various sizes for their flagship devices.  @GadgetLeaks on Twitter sent out a friendly little tweet letting everyone know to expect not only the Xperia Z2 soon, but also a phablet in the form of the Xperia Z2 Ultra, and a tablet called the Xperia Tablet Z2.  The lineup and the names all make perfect sense, and it looks like Sony is going to try to hit it big when it launches these devices in the near future.

While none of these devices have been officially announced, they aren’t exactly a well-kept secret.  Mobile World Congress is in just a few days’ time, and it’s highly likely that we’ll see such an announcement at the show.  Until then though we’ve got a number of leaks to keep track of just how Sony is progressing their lineup into 2014 like the breakdown of Sony’s new KitKat update and modified UI that should be shipping with all 3 new devices.  The hardware itself isn’t pushing too many boundaries, but we can only speculate as to what differences Sony is going to bring with the Xperia Z2 Ultra.  One of the biggest complaints about the original Xperia Z Ultra was that the bezels around the sides of the screen were far too large, making an already large phone simply gargantuan.  Will Sony increase the screen size and lower the bezels, or will they keep the same screen size and just shrink the body size?  Either way we’re going to hopefully find out for sure in a few days time.
