We’re close to the Unpacked event in Barcelona, in fact we are less than 2 weeks away now. It’s all but confirmed that we will be seeing the Galaxy S5 at Unpacked, and now we’re starting to see plenty of leaks of the device. The latest is coming from a website out of the Netherlands, SamsungGalaxyS5.nl, which has claimed to have gotten a picture of the back of the retail box for the Galaxy S5 which features the specs of the Galaxy S5.
According to the box, we’re looking at a 5.25-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, 2.5GHz quad-core processor (likely Snapdragon 805), 3GB of RAM, 3000mAh battery, 20MP AF Camera and 2MP front-facing camera, as well as other various specs like GPS, Smart Remote, etc. The specs seem to be right on point with all the other leaks we’ve seen lately. Although, recently we have seen some new leaks which point to a 1080p display instead of QHD. But we’ve seen plenty more leaks pointing at a QHD display, which seems more likely. Also having a 3000mAh battery is definitely needed for this device, especially with all those pixels.
The Galaxy S5 is one of those devices, that I’m actually looking forward to being announced, and there’s two reasons for that. I’m excited to see the Touchwiz revamp as well as the new hardware design. But according to the specs, the Galaxy S5 is definitely going to be a beast. But the thing is, will the HTC M8 and the new LG G Pro 2 be able to compete with it? I sure hope so. There’s nothing I like more than some tough competition between the OEMs. It’s always better for the consumer that way.
Unpacked is going down on February 24th, and we’ll be covering it as always, breaking down every part of the phone. Be sure to join us in two weeks for Unpacked!
