Verizon Moto X Getting Android 4.4.2 Right Now!

Verizon seems to have finished up their soak test on the Moto X for Android 4.4.2 as we’re getting reports of Android 4.4.2 heading out to all Verizon Moto X users. Which is a great thing. The update doesn’t bring much else that’s new, but it does bring a ton of bug fixes, which is always great to have.

The changelog for the Android 4.4.2 update consists of improved phone dialer application performance, improved sync of email attachments, enhanced on-device security, improved connectivity when roaming, battery life improvements and ISIS mobile wallet enhancements. Verizon has also added in the latest version of the VZ Tones and VZ Navigator apps. The update should be pretty small, in fact I believe the update for the T-Mobile variant was around 64MB in size. It does bring some much needed battery improvements, but on the T-Mobile version at least, it doesn’t seem to be as good as it was on Android 4.2.2, unfortunately.

The update should be rolling out to everyone over the next few days. As always you can head into Settings > About Phone > System Updates and grab the update yourself. This means that the only Moto X still sitting on Android 4.4 is AT&T. So hopefully AT&T users will get to see Android 4.4.2 very soon, as it’s a much needed bug fixer, at least in my opinion.

Remember, the Verizon Moto X is also going for just a penny on Amazon right now. So if you’re interested in picking up the Moto X on Verizon, now’s your chance since you’ll also get a $100 bill credit for a new activation. The Moto X is a great device, and I just can’t recommend it enough, it’s right up there with the G2, in my opinion. If any of you get the update to Android 4.4.2, be sure to let us know how it’s working out for you in the comments below.
