50 MP Images Claimed to be From the Oppo Find 7 Show Up, Are you Impressed Yet?

Apart from the redoubtable Nokia, there haven’t been many successful OEMs who have challenged the limits of the camera sensor on a smartphone device. It seems that the Chinese manufacturer OPPO would be beating the competition with their upcoming flagship device – the OPPO Find 7. In the buzz from the rumor mill is true, we could see a 50 mega pixel (MP) camera on the OPPO Find 7. But, as with all rumors, there is almost always another contradictory thing just round the corner.

We have been hearing that the Oppo Find 7 could come with a 13 MP camera instead of the fabled 50 MP. However, if these super high resolution images are anything to go by the camera on the Find 7 could be a 50 MP beast. The images pop out with their depth of zoom, however the level of detail is somewhat lacking which could be because of pre-release software and we might get to see the actual power of the camera in action once the device is announced. The EXIF tag on the photos does say ‘OPPO Find 7’, however fudging the EXIF data is an easy thing. We are still skeptical that these images may turn out to not be from the OPPO Find 7; however we cannot help but be amazed at the prospect of having such a snapper on a mobile smartphone device. It could also turn out that these images are nothing more than a marketing gimmick from the Chinese manufacturer. So all in all, do take these with a dollop of skepticism and you should not be too disappointed if this turns out to be faked.

Do note that these photos are pretty large in size – ranging from 8 to 10 MB each – and may take a while for you to browse in the gallery below. On our part, we would definitely wait and watch for an official announcement, but in the mean time we would love to hear your views. Do you think a 50 MP snapper for a smartphone device is overkill?
