Android Game Of The Week: Smash Hit

This weeks Android Game of The Week is more than just a glass breaking, smashing good time. It’s an uber addictive beast with visuals and audio so clean and immersive, you’ll have to cut yourself off from playing before you start throwing heavy objects at things made of glass within your own home. Smash Hit from Mediocre Games has been one of those easy to play and easy to love games that we’ve been waiting on for some time now. There’s just so many things about it that we love we just couldn’t help ourselves when it came to choosing a game worthy of the Game of The Week moniker. Make no mistake, Smash Hit wears this crown beautifully and without any effort.

First off, the game is free to download and you can play through a good portion of it to check things out. All the fun you could have smashing as much glass as your little heart can handle without making a mess and having to worry about stepping on broken shards. Should you find that you’re just as addicted as the rest of us who have picked up the game, you can proceed to snag the one time in app purchase for the premium version($1.99)of the game that gives you the full experience, plus cloud saves via Google play Games, plus the additional capability of being able to restart levels from checkpoints.

The game is simple to play, all you have to do is fling tiny metal balls at lovely and realistically designed pieces of glass in different shapes and sizes as you progress forward through the level. Seems easy right? It is, to an extent. As you get further things become harder as there is more glass to be aware of. Oh, and did I mention you only get a certain amount of metal balls to work with? Yep, so you’ll want to make sure that you fling them wisely. Since you start off with a designated amount, you want to try and fling the balls at every piece of glass if you can, and smashing the glass effectively will net you points and potentially more metal balls to keep you going. Be careful not to run into any of the glass though as doing so will take away a certain amount of life that you have, and too many hits equals game over. So there’s the first challenge. See how far you can go distance the distance before you either run out of metal balls or before you slam into too many pieces of glass before you can break it. Past that, there also the addition of leaderboards and achievements through Google Play Games for bragging rights. Breaking Glass has never been so fun, and all without any sort of repercussions. You can grab Smash Hit for yourself if you haven’t already, all you have to do is hit the link to the Play Store.
