Last night, CyanogenMod released their fourth “monthly” build of CM11. Now we know they don’t like to call them milestones, monthly’s, or anything like that. But it does get released once a month. And CyanogenMod 11 is based on Android 4.4.2 – KitKat. So you’ll get all your favorite KitKat features like immersive mode and transparent notification bars with CM11.
According to CyanogenMod’s blog post, we’re seeing changes for immersive mode, Bluetooth LE, System NavBar, Motion Accerlerometer support, volume panel, translations, MediaPlayer, CM Easter Egg, QuickSettings, Recent Apps Panel, and so much more. The M4 snapshot is a relatively stable build, it’s in the middle of a nightly and a stable build of CM11.
At the time of writing this, it’s available for the Google Nexus S, Samsung Captivate, Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G, Barnes & Noble Nook, Acer Iconia Tab A700, Google Nexus 5, Verizon LG G2, Google Nexus 7 2012 (GSM), ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Google Nexus 7 2012 (WiFi), International Samsung Galaxy S4 and many others. CyanogenMod is one of those ROMs that everyone turns too because they’ve been supporting devices much longer than the OEMs and even the carriers. So those that sign contracts for their phone will turn to CyanogenMod after about a year, since they are no longer under warranty. CyanogenMod is normally pretty stable, and is basically just stock Android. Which is a good version of Android to have on your device, as it’s pretty fast and a lot less bloated.
