The Kindle Fire HDX may not be our favorite tablet, for its price and specs, it’s hard to beat it. The 8.9-inch version has a 2560×1600 resolution display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, so it’s pretty beastly. What about cases for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9? Well here are a few.
Belkin Chambray Cover
Belkin is pretty popular for cases as well as their cables. This Chambray cover is available in black, purple, blue and red/pink. It’s kind of expensive though at $45. It’s also only available for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, it will not fit the HDX 7 or HD 8.9.

Maxboost Case Book Folio Leather Stand Cover Case
Maxboost has a pretty cheap case for the Kindle Fire HDX. This one is just $10 but is available in a ton of colors. It also has a multi-angle stand, stylus holder, and hand holding strap. It’s also available for the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch version.
i-BLASON Leather Case Cover
This one is only available for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9-inch version. It comes in many colors and patterns and has a elastic hand strap on the back as well as a stylus and ID card holder. It also has the exact cut outs and openings for all controls, speakers and cameras.
rooCASE Slime Shell Origami Case
rooCASE is quite popular for cheap, but high quality cases. This one is available for about $20, and in plenty of colors like black, pink, red, purple, blue and gray. It folds up into a stand kind of like Amazon’s official case, which is further down on this list.
Otterbox Defender
We all know about Otterbox by now. I’ve even done a few reviews for their cases. But they have a nice Otterbox Defender Series for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. So if you’re the clumsy type, then you may want to invest in a nice Otterbox type case as it will protect your tablet from just about any kind of drop.

Inventcase Smart Folio
InventCase has a nice, and colorful, smart folio case for the Kindle Fire HDX which has precise cut outs for all ports, speaker outlet and camera with a magnetic case closure for smart stay. The built-in stand allows you to stand up your Kindle Fire HDX while you are watching a movie, which is definitely a nice feature to have.
Poetic Slimline Case
Poetic has been making some great cases for quite a while now. And they’ve pushed out a couple of slimline cases for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. They have one model for the 8.9-inch and another for the 7-inch model. Both are under $20. So not bad at all in terms of pricing.
Kindle Fire HDX Standing Leather Origami Case
This case is from Amazon and is the exact fit for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9-inch tablet. It comes in black, blue and red. It folds up in the back to form a stand in a few different angles, it’s a pretty cool case, which I was able to review when I got my review unit of the Kindle Fire HDX late last year.
