Galaxy S 5 Available for Pre-Order at 12:01 GMT on Wednesday From Carphone Warehouse

The Galaxy S 5 was officially announced during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It has been quite an interesting year already in terms of new flagships. HTC just announced and launched the All New HTC One on tuesday, and we’re just over 2 weeks away from the global launch of the Galaxy S 5.

Samsung’s new flagship comes with a 16-megapixel rear facing camera, a fingerprint scanner on the home button, and a 2.1-megapixel front facing shooter. Consumers will also get a heart rate monitor that will work hand-in-hand with the S Health app. The Galaxy S 5 comes with a 5.1-inch AMOLED display and features a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2 GB of RAM. The device is also water and dust proof. Consumers also get a robust battery saving mode that can allow your battery to last up to 24 hours once it hits 10%.

We’ve been hearing a lot about the pricing and availability of this flagship from the various carriers here in the United States. We now turn our attention to Carphone Warehouse in the UK. Carphone Warehouse has announced that they will be starting pre-orders on the Galaxy S 5 at 12:01 AM GMT on March 28th. The device is going for £579.95 outright. If you wish to go with a contract, you can get the device for free and pay £42 per month. The pre-order is for the white and black variants of the Galaxy S 5 only. The blue and gold color options should be coming on April 22nd and May 20th. If you pre-order the Galaxy S 5, it should be available on April 11th, when the Galaxy S 5 is officially available worldwide.

Many carriers have already reported their pre-registration numbers for the Galaxy S 5. So far, the interest that has been registered for Samsung’s new flagship looks to be a pretty large number. With only a few weeks left until the device actually goes on sale, we’ll soon be able to see the actual sales numbers. Samsung announced that they have sold 200 million Galaxy devices worldwide. Now we’re all just waiting to see how many devices Samsung’s new flagship adds to that number. Will you be grabbing the Galaxy S 5 when it officially launches or are you holding out for something else?
