HTC Reports Sales Plummeting In February

We have raved about HTC’s  quality phones for a while now, but unfortunately for them, it would seem as if customers are not buying what they are selling.  HTC has reported that they are facing a 36.5% sales decrease from last February, which could be due to plenty of external factors.  The most obvious factor could be that people are simply not buying phones this month, considering that MWC fell at the end of the month and people may have been waiting to see what would be revealed in Barcelona before buying their new devices.  The Taiwanese company earned a revenue of $238 million, which is the lowest amount they have seen since February of 2007.  While this information is definitely not the best for the company, there is always the opportunity for improvement.  With their new devices announced at MWC, things are looking up for the rest of the year.  Predictions are that HTC will see much growth in the latter quarters of the year, which is definitely good news for both the company proper and their shareholders.  Speaking of shares, their market price opened almost a percentage point lower in the Asian markets, signifying a drop in revenue as well.

All eyes are on HTC’s next major flagship phone, which is called the All New HTC One M8, has held our fascination and imagination for quite some time now.  With a recently released video that allows for us to look more closely at the features and UI of this phone, our appetites are certainly being tempted for the release.  While the device looks a lot like the HTC One, we are still excited to see what there is in store for us one the device hits the shelves.  Going back to HTC’s losses, the idea that the latter 2014 quarters will be stronger fits in perfectly with the fact that the All New One will be released, and I for one hope that HTC manages to recoup their losses and then some, if for no other reason than to keep them competitive in the mobile markets.  What do you think?  Will HTC be able to recover from this?  Will you be one of the people buying the All New One when it hits the shelves?  Let us know in the comments down below!
