Here’s some good news, it appears that LG has really been making some strides in the US lately. We’ve noticed since they announced the LG Optimus G in 2012, that LG had really stepped up their game. Since then, they’ve put out the LG Optimus G Pro, G2, and the G Pro 2, as well as partnering with the Google for the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5. Thanks to these 5 devices – 5 since the LG G Pro 2 isn’t yet available in the US – LG is now the number three manufacturer in the US behind Samsung and Apple. LG is holding 8% of the market share in the US, which is almost double what they had a year ago. According to Kantar World Panel:
“The LG G2 marks a significant change in direction for LG, now aiming squarely towards the top end of the market. Customer recommendation figures for the past three months show the LG G2 has the highest rating of any new handset at 9.2 out of 10, followed by the iPhone 5S at 9.1 and SamsungGalaxy Note III at 9.0. User advocacy is hugely important in mobile and this is great news to help LG maintain its momentum. Selling phones is one thing, getting your buyers to help you sell even more is another.”
A bit more of interesting news is the fact that Kantar says that the LG G2 has surpassed both the Apple iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in customer recommendations with a score of a 9.2. And the iPhone 5S has a score of 9.1 and the Galaxy Note 3 is a 9. Which is pretty damn good news for LG and is going to make 2014 a very interesting year.
Back in September, we covered the LG G2 pretty hard core, a bit more than we do other devices mainly because it was the first LG flagship that was widely available in the US. So how many of our readers are sporting the LG G2 right now?
