It’s been rumored and leaked and now it’s official, the LG G Pad 8.3 is coming to Verizon later this week. What’s interesting here is the pricing, which we’ll break down right now. The LG G Pad is available for $99.99 on a new 2-year contract through March 10th, after that it’s $199 on a 2-year contract. However, if you don’t want a contract, the full retail price is $299.99. This is where things get interesting. The LTE version of the LG G Pad 8.3 is $299, sounds good right? While the WiFi version is $349.99. It’s so confusing. This is kind of weird, but I’d say that you’re better off getting the LTE version than the WiFi version of the G Pad 8.3.
Usually the LTE versions of tablets are a bit more expensive, usually around $50-100 more. So it’s pretty surprising to see it cheaper this go ’round. The LG G Pad 8.3 is a great tablet, and with LTE on-board it’s even better. We reviewed the LG G Pad 8.3 earlier this year, and our Editor Tom is still in love with it. It’s an amazing tablet and now Verizon users can add it to their account for an additional $10/month. Not too bad, but you may also want to add more data to your plan when adding a tablet.
The LG G Pad 8.3 has a 8.3-inch 1920×1200 resolution IPS display, 2GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 16GB/32GB of storage, and it’s running Android 4.2.2 right now. It should see an update to KitKat very shortly. It’s also running on a 4600mAh battery. The G Pad 8.3 also has all your favorite G2 features like QSlide, Slide Aside, and Q Pair (which isn’t on the LG G2). Q Pair app links and syncs your LG G Pad 8.3 with Android smartphones to receive notifications for incoming calls, text messages and much more. Which is definitely a great feature to have.
