Seems like the water resistant and dust proof thing is finally catching on. Sony has been doing it for a bit with their devices, and now it looks like LG is following those footsteps. Although that could also be because the Samsung Galaxy S5 is waterproof and dust proof. The latest rumor about the LG G3, which we are expecting to see later this summer, consist of it being dust and water proof. Which seems to be the spec of the year this year.
Lately, LG has been putting out some really great devices and really turning around their reputation in the tech community. It used to be that LG was known for mid-range and low-end devices along with late updates if you even got an update. But since the Optimus G in 2012, LG has really stepped up their game. The LG G2 was a fantastic device which is now getting the update to Android 4.4 KitKat, even before Samsung on some carriers and regions.
As far as the specs for the LG G3, we don’t really know what to expect, but with it slated for the second half of the year, I’d expect a 5.3-inch 1080p IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB of storage, and a 3500mAh battery. Which I think are all likely specs and something that’s definitely possible from LG. Of course they could go bigger, but I think they want to keep the overall size of the G3 the same as the G2, and just make the bezels a bit smaller, which will be tough since they are already pretty small.
Rumors are pointing to a July or August announcement for the LG G3, so we’ve still got some time for plenty of rumors and leaks to come out for the G3. But I’m definitely excited to see what LG has in store for us this year. As they have been pretty good with their devices lately, especially battery life. How many of you are excited for the LG G3?
