OUYA just might get a little bit more enticing to those who have been waiting before they decided to pick one up. We reported yesterday about OUYA’s decision to take their software public and offer it on other hardware, which might have been the best move for them as it would open up infinite possibilities for those looking to get their hands on OUYA specific games. Today we learn about the very first hardware partner that plans to utilize the OUYA Everywhere initiative. If you guessed that Mad Catz and their M.O.J.O. Android micro console would be the first setup for the OUYA Everywhere deal, then you’d be right. As of today, Mad Catz has announced that they will be partnering up with OUYA to offer OUYA games on their micro console. This could be great news for those who already own the M.O.J.O., but what about for those that are looking for an Android micro console and have yet to decide on what’s the best solution for them?
If you’re looking for something that fits into your budget at the lowest cost possible, it might be more advantageous to go straight for the OUYA itself, however there are certainly some benefits to making the leap to the M.O.J.O. instead. Not only will you begin to get the OUYA games on there, but you’ll have access to whatever games would be specific to the M.O.J.O. as well. Something that you wouldn’t be getting if you chose the OUYA. The whole deal is expected to take place later this spring and include future and all current existing OUYA content which spans from indie developers and their games to a decent list of AAA titles. As an added incentive to this deal between Mad Catz and OUYA, Mad Catz has also announced that they’ll be dropping the price of the M.O.J.O. to $199.99 from the original price of $249.99. Mad Catz says that the price cut starts today in the U.S. and will roll out to other major territories soon, but the price through amazon seems to be set at the original price still. This might be just what some passionate gamers were looking for. As a gamer myself, this certainly excites me and I can’t wait to see what other hardware platforms become compatible with OUYA and its games through the OUYA Everywhere initiative.
