Malaysia May Be Seeing The Samsung Galaxy S 5 On March 27th

We’re a little less than a month away from the Samsung Galaxy S 5 launch here in the United States. Since then, we’ve been seeing a lot of pre-registration information, and even contests for winning the new handset. Samsung stated that over 150 countries would be getting the Galaxy S 5 on April 11th, the US being one of them. However, it appears as though the Galaxy S 5 will be arriving sooner than that for some countries. Malaysia will be getting Samsung’s newest flagship on March 27th, which happens to be a little under two weeks away. There will be three carriers in Malaysia who will be carrying the Galaxy S 5 at launch. The Galaxy S 5 is supposed to launch on April 11th in the US, but it’s possible that some other countries are going to get it sooner than that. The image we’re seeing states “Be the first”, with March 27th as the listed date. This image did not clarify whether that date is a pre-order date or an official launch date. However, by the looks of it, “be the first” usually means the first to have something. I guess we’ll just have to wait until the 27th to see if this is the launch date or a pre-order date.

The Galaxy S 5 features a 5.1-inch high definition screen, a 16-megapixel rear facing camera, and a heart rate sensor. We’re also looking at a finger scanner for easy and secure access to the device. Samsung also designed the Galaxy S 5 to have what they call a “perforated” back, which looks similar to the back on the 2012 ASUS Nexus 7. The Galaxy S 5 is going to be including an extremely awesome idle battery saving mode that helps your phone last up to 24 hours when it’s close to dying. We’ve already seen pre-registration information from T-Mobile. All signs point to customers being genuinely interested in purchasing the device when it is finally launched in the states. The last figures that T-Mobile announced were that there were at least 300,000 names on the pre-registration list. After the Malaysian carriers launch the Galaxy S 5, we should be seeing more information on how many devices were actually sold. We shouldn’t have to wait much longer to see how popular this device will be.
