Mobilicity Does Spring Cleaning Offering Unlimited $30/Month Plan

Many people are surprised that Mobilicity is still around, but apparently ‘reports of their death have been greatly exaggerated’ – offering the same deal as they did in November, dropping their unlimited monthly rate from $45 to $30. We can only assume that Mobilicity is making a last-ditch effort to drum up business this Spring, probably trying to add to their customer base to make it more attractive for purchase – if the Canadian Government’s Industry Minister James Moore would loosen their rules, Mobilicity would already be a part of TELUS.

For $30 a month, you get UNLIMITED – Data, Canada-Wide Talk, Text, North American Long Distance, Global Text, 30 Minutes North America Voice Roaming, Voicemail, Caller ID, and Call Features.  Mobilicity does not say how long they will extend this offer, only that it is a “limited time offer and available to new activations only,” which tells us they are definitely looking to bring new clients. The fine print continues –  “Save $15/month on our $45 unlimited plan while customer’s account remains active with Mobilicity and on automatic monthly payments (preauthorized credit/ debit payment),” so you must also accept their auto-pay option and allow them to take the money directly from your account each month. If you have coverage with Mobilicity and are willing to take the risk, it seems like a great deal.

Mobilicity is a lot like T-Mobile in the U.S. – they are trying to shake things up by offering discount pricing over the big three…Rogers, TELUS, and Bell.  On Mobilicity’s website they state:

“We believe that Canadians deserve an affordable wireless experience that delivers more freedom and flexibility.”

They do not make you sign a contract or pay cancellation fees and they have no hidden fees – what you see is the price you pay.  They offer unlimited plans so there is no worry about going over your minutes or data.  They offer coverage in 5 unlimited zones across Canada, including Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

Let us know on our Google+ Page if you would be willing to jump on the Mobilicity bandwagon and grab up a $30 a month unlimited plan. Do you think that the Canadian Government should allow one of the established, larger carriers to purchase Mobilicity or let them go under.
