For some time now, we’ve been hearing about Oppo’s latest Android device, the Find 7. Set for a launch a little later on this month, the Find 7 is to be the company’s true successor to the very popular Find 5. While Oppo isn’t quite a household name here in the West, many of you will have heard of the Find 5, one of the first devices to launch with a Full HD display at 1920 x 1080. Then, the company followed that with the Oppo N1, a device with an impressive camera to help make your selfies better than no other. Of course, we doubt you’ll get as much attention as Ellen, but still. Now, the Find 7 is next up for the Chinese company and they haven’t been shy in teasing us.
The official teaser, left by Oppo on Chinese social media asks us which version we would choose and again lists the March 19th date for their reveal. It appears that the only difference between these two isn’t going to be the screen resolutions. Instead, the 1080p model will be powered by your “everyday” Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3 Ghz, with the 2K version sporting a slightly more powerful Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 Ghz, a la the Galaxy S5. Speaking of Samsung, we had heard that the Korean giant would be launching two versions of the Galaxy S5 before launch, while that didn’t come to fruition, it seems Oppo has no qualms about launching two versions.
Pricing will be different between the two models as well, after all Oppo is primarily selling these devices in China, a market that doesn’t like paying the same sort of premiums for their smartphones that Americans do. So far, there’s been no word of a CyanogenMod version of the Find 7, as there was with the N1, but we’re sure that CyanogenMod will run on the new hardware just fine, with or without Oppo’s help.
