With MWC and Samsung Unpacked behind us now, the announcements are still fresh in our minds that Samsung has just made it official that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is coming in April. If you have been following along with us here at Android Headlines, you already know about the Gear 2 as well. Those of you Samsung faithful out there are more than likely very excited and cannot wait to have these devices in your hands. Samsung decided to make a good publicity call and market their new devices to the public during one of the most watched shows on television. The Oscars. Known as a time when America tunes in to see their favorite actors and actresses get recognized for their hard work, the Oscars were a perfect opportunity for Samsung to get the word out and they did.
Samsung debuted two commercials for the world’s viewing pleasure in hopes that it may whet the appetite of viewers and get folks interested in the new Samsung Galaxy S5 and Gear 2. The commercials look well put together and possibly capture the point of what Samsung is trying to get across. That point is that Samsung products on the whole bring people together and get the consumer that “Wow” factor. The Samsung Galaxy S5 video is short and to the point, giving viewers the impression of elegance and something to be expected. The glimpses of the device are short.
The Gear 2 commercial is three times as long, lending itself to various people from different walks of life repeated like saying “you’ve gotta see this” over and over. The line may seem a little redundant, but after you see just how many Samsung products they slip in on top of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Gear 2, you begin to see that Samsung is truly trying to make a point. They are everywhere!!! I must admit the piece where the woman answers the phone through her Gear 2 watch is pretty cool. After seeing these commercials, I only had one question on my mind. Will this be a sufficient start to Samsung’s marketing campaign? I certainly hope so, I’d like to see Samsung keep their momentum and these commercials help get the word out.
