Sony's Xperia Tablet Z2 is Now Available in the UK from £399

Last month during Mobile World Congress, Sony didn’t just announce the Xperia Z2, as they announced a tablet version of the Z2 as well, imaginatively dubbed the Xperia Tablet Z2. It’s as feature-packed as the smartphone, with a Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM and a Full HD display all crammed into a 6.4mm think frame. While the device is still making its way to some markets around the world, it’s just gone live across the pond.

The Xperia Tablet Z2 is available in the UK direct from Sony’s store, starting at £399 for the 16GB WiFi Only model, moving up to £449 for 32GB of storage, and then £499 for LTE and 16GB of storage. It’d be nice to see 32GB of storage in the LTE version, as it is an extra hundred just for LTE, but there is a microSD card slot on board for easy expansion. There’s no denying the Tablet Z2 is a pricey tablet, which is probably why Sony is offering financing, but it is a very well-built device. Unlike previous Sony devices in the Xperia Z line, the Tablet Z2 mercifully features an IPS panel, making for a much better viewing experience on the 10.1-inch display, even if it isn’t the 2560 x 1600 of others.

We guess the question you have to answer when looking at buying the Tablet Z2 is whether or not you can afford it and whether it’s worth the money. Paying this much for a tablet without a quad HD display might seem a little strange, but the Tablet Z2 is water-resistant, making it a lot more life-proof than others. As well as that, you’re looking at the latest version of Android and compatibility with a raft of quality Sony accessories.
