T-Mobile Pushing out Android 4.4.2 to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Everyone’s been asking where the update was, and now it’s here. The Android 4.4.2 – KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 on T-Mobile is finally here. It’s a hefty 495MB OTA that is rolling out starting this morning. As expected, you won’t see much difference in terms of visual changes, but the status bar icons will become white. Which I’m happy to see. Samsung isn’t the only OEM to do this with their skin either, as LG has made their icons white in KitKat as well.

Some of the other features Galaxy Note 3 users will experience with KitKat is the new immersive mode even though they don’t have on-screen navigation, transparent notification bars in certain apps, as well as the built-in cloud printing support. The update is probably rolling out slowly for the first couple of day, then it’ll pick up steam and hit more and more devices afterwards. This is to be sure that the update isn’t bricking any devices, which is common practice with OTAs.

If you haven’t received the update yet, do not clear the Google Services Framework. As we learned recently, that hurts you more then helping you get the OTA faster. Just sit back and wait for the update. However, you can always jump into Settings > About Phone > Check For Updates and see if you can pull down the update from there. As we stated it’s a pretty large update, so it’ll take a while to download, and if you don’t have unlimited data, you’ll want to be on WiFi before downloading the update.

How many of our readers on T-Mobile are sporting the Galaxy Note 3? Are you excited to get KitKat for your T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3? Once you get the update, be sure to let us know in the comments below how you’re liking the update.
