Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Launches in Taiwan Complete With Kid Mode
Samsung’s cutdown Galaxy Tab 3 will soon be available in Taiwan. With 1GB of RAM, a 1024 x 600 display and a 1.2 Ghz dual-core CPU it’s not the best Samsung has to offer, but it’s not designed to be, either. With Kid Mode included, this could be a decent family tablet, available in light pink and light blue for NT $5,290 it’s not too bad a price for a Samsung product.
ECS Android Tablet Appears With Intel Bay Trail CPU
Taiwan-based ECS has been showing off an 8-inch Android tablet powered by a 1.83 Ghz Intel CPU using the Bay Trail architecture. Other specs include Android 4.2.2, an 8-inch 1280 x 800 display and 1GB of RAM. However, considering that ECS often produces devices for others, there’s every chance that this would be come with different hardware outfits. While this is just a demo unit, it could be a strong sign that new Android tablets utilizing Intel’s latest chip are on the way.
Vodafone UK Now Offers as Much as 13GB of Data a Month With XXL Plans
4G LTE has taken off in the UK at long last thanks to all major networks now offering some sort of 4G service. Vodafone have recently upped their data allowances with the introduction of an XXL plan. 4G plans start at 3GB a month, with L sizes getting you 5GB a month and XL bringing 9GB of data a month. This new XXL data cap allows for 13GB of downloading and streaming. Which is nice and all, but you can get as much as 50GB on EE and of course, three still offers unlimited data, regardless of whether or not you’re on 4G.
Panasonic P31 Now Available in India
Panasonic might have faded from the smartphone market in Japan, but that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy a little success in India. The P31 is a 5-inch device that costs just RS 11,990 and features a quad-core CPU, but has just an 854 x 480 display, Android 4.2.2, an 8-megapixel camera and a 0.3-megapixel rear-facing camera. It’s not the best Panasonic has ever shipped, but it does cost just a little under RS 12,000.
Dual-SIM Nokia X Appears Online in India
The Nokia X is about to be available in India, as the Dual-SIM variant of the device has been seen online for RS 8,499. The dual-core budget minded Android handset will be available in Green, Cyan, White, Black, Yellow and Red throughout March, with varying delivery dates depending on who you ask however, those interested should be able to get their hands on the device this month that’s for sure. While the Nokia X might sound like a decent Android device, it’s unfortunately a cutdown affair running Android 4.1.2 and there’s no Google here, instead Nokia have tried to develop their own take on Android, so while it seems cheap, be sure to do some research before picking this up.
Jet Airways is The First Indian Airway to Integrate with Google Now
In India, Google Now hasn’t been as much as use as it has been for us here in the West. However, with a recent announcement from Jet Airways, Indians will soon be able to get booking information through Google Now. This of course only applies to those ordering with Jet Airways and using their GMail account, but progress is progress and hopefully more will follow suit
Lenovo’s Vibe Z Goes Up for Pre-Order in India
Lenovo’s Vibe Z is yet another quality smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer and it’s now available for pre-order online. The Vibe Z features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 at 2.2 Ghz, 2GB of RAM and more. Of course, for RS 34,999 it would need to be full of specs like this. There’s Android 4.3 onboard, a Sony 13-megapixel camera and a quality build to boot. In India however, this might be too expensive for the vast majority of buyers.
ASUS to Release ZenFone Line in Malaysia?
At CES this year, ASUS announced a line of smartphones, dubbed the ZenFone. Coming in 4, 5 and 6 variants, all of the devices are powered by Intel CPUs and are designed to hit low-end to mid-range price points. While the ZenFone line has yet to make waves in most parts of the world, we’re now hearing that the line of devices are coming to Malaysia some time soon. With no word on pricing just yet, we’re hoping that ASUS can get some good deals together for these products, after all they are decent devices for the price.
Sony Xperia Z2 and Tablet Z2 to Launch in Singapore Before the End of March
We’re pretty sure that you’ve all heard of Sony’s latest and greatest smartphones and tablet. Well, if you live in Singapore, you have a lot to be excited about, as the two of them will be launching in the country before the end of this month. Both devices feature IPS displays, a Snapdragon 801 and the Z2 even features 3GB of RAm for all of the multitasking you’re likely to do. The Xperia Z2 is to cost SGD$998 when it goes on sale, and the Xperia Tablet Z2 will cost SGD$888 for the LTE version and the WiFi version will cost SGD$668, which is a considerable gap.
