It’s been an important month in China for new Android smartphone releases, with Oppo’s Find 7 launching just last week and now, the official launch of the ZTE Nubia X6. As many of you might already know, the Nubia line from ZTE is their premium line and features some of the best specs, hardware design and build materials you’ll find anywhere, let alone in China. We’ve been hearing a lot about the Nubia X6 lately, surrounding its camera and its audio prowess and now it’s finally official. Coming in at 6.44-inches, what does this 7.9mm thick device have in store for those looking for a new premium smartphone?
For a start, it’s packing a Snapdragon 801 at 2.5 Ghz, backed up by 2GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of storage. There are two version for folks to choose from, the 32GB version with a 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 801 and the 64GB version with a 2.5 Ghz Snapdragon 801 however, they both share the same 6.44-inch 1080p display, dual-SIM support and 7.9mm frame. If dual-SIM support wasn’t enough, the Nubia X6 supports pretty much any wireless technology out there, including TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, EVDO, CDMA, GSM, WCDMA and TD-SDCMA. All of this is powered by a 4,250 mAh battery, which is pretty impressive to say how thin this guy is.
Speaking of imaging here, the Nubia X6 seems to feature a pair of 13-megapixel cameras, one at the front and one at the rear. Around the back, the X6 features Optical Image Stabilization and an f/2.0 aperture, with the front-facing camera being a BSI sensor with a smaller f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras are impressive, but don’t seem to hold up against Oppo’s incredible 50-megapixel technology inside of the Find 7 that launched last week. No matter what though, the Nubia X6 is a great-looking device and one that anybody would be happy to use. At 7.9mm thick with all the feature you could want – including great battery life – it’s hard to find something to complain about. While specifics are still up in the air, the device is launching soon in China and will cost CNY 3,499 for the 64GB version and CNY 2,999 for the 32GB version. It’s time like these where we wish devices like the Nubia X6 were available here in the West, am I right?
