The HTC One (M8) is the new hotness right now, alongside the Samsung Galaxy S5 obviously. But since we don’t yet have a review unit for the Galaxy S5 yet, we’re still working on a bunch of content for the HTC One (M8). Next on the list is Google Now. Google Now is probably our favorite feature that came out of the Android 4.1 release a few years ago. And since then it’s changed a whole lot. Adding more information and functionality, to now becoming part of your home screen on the Nexus 5 with the Google Now Launcher. It seems like every OEM makes it different to get to Google Now on their device. Usually either a long press our double tap of the home button. But with the HTC One (M8) having on-screen buttons, it’s even easier. Just a simple swipe up from the home button. Just as how Google intended. So from anywhere in the OS, you can just swipe up from the home screen and you’re all set.
With Google Now you are able to see birthdays, sports scores, how long it’ll take to get home, when to leave for an appointment and so much more. It’s truly the most helpful feature on any smartphone these days. And I say “Smartphone” because it is also on the iPhone. It’s also on Google Chrome on the desktop as well. And it works great. What is your favorite feature in Google Now? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
