Android How To: Keep your Samsung Galaxy S5's Display on Longer

For most of us, this may seem like a really simple task. But you have to remember that we have new people switching over to  Android and smartphones everyday. In fact, my parents just recently dropped their feature phones for smartphones. And it’s amazing how many things we think are simple and everyone knows, that new users don’t know. Today, we’re showing new users of the Samsung Galaxy S5 how to keep their display on longer. It’s actually quite easy to do.

First of all, go into the settings by pulling down your notification shade and tapping the gear icon in the corner. Next tap on ‘Display’. Now tap on “Screen Timeout” and choose the length of time you desire. I normally keep mine on 15 or 30 seconds, in case I forget to turn off the display, it won’t use a ton of battery life. It’s good to extend it, especially if you’re trying to show someone something, or you’re like me and recording a video or something about the device.

So that’s how to change the screen timeout. It’s actually really easy to do, as you can see. As always, if you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment below and we’ll do our best to assist you.
