BLU Studio 5.0 Gets Announced, Complete with 4G LTE Connectivity

Some of you may not know about BLU, but we’ve been following them for some time, and they create some pretty awesome devices. Especially for the price they sell them at. We’ve taken a look at the BLU Life Pure, Life Pure Mini and a few other smartphones from them in the past year. The only real complaint I’ve had from them is the lack of LTE. Which they appear to have fixed with the BLU Studio 5.0.

As far as internals go, the BLU Studio 5.0 LTE features a 5-inch qHD display. Yes qHD. But remember this is a $249 phone with LTE, basically competing with the Moto G, which doesn’t have LTE or a 5-inch display. It also sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, with a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB. It also has a 8MP rear-facing camera, as well as a 1.6-megapixel front-facing shooter. It’s powered by a 2000mAh battery and Android 4.2.2. Unfortunately there’s no word on when or if it’ll be upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The BLU Studio 5.0 LTE is available in white, pink and yellow, and will be available from Amazon and Best Buy.

The best part about the BLU Studio 5.0 LTE is that it is compatible with MetroPCS and T-Mobile’s network. According to BLU it supports the following bands for LTE; 4G LTE bands 4 (1700Mhz) and 7 (2600Mhz)  and 3G bands 850/1700/1900/2100. So it’s not going to support the newly acquired 700MHz band that T-Mobile has, but then again that won’t be put into use until later on this year. So now that we have both HSPA+ 42mbps and LTE networks supported on the BLU Studio 5.0 LTE, it’s made this device a whole lot better of a choice. Hopefully T-Mobile and MetroPCS sell this device in-store, as many people don’t know about BLU.
