More "Cheap" Smartphones like the Moto G Coming from Motorola Next Month?

When Motorola announced the Moto G in November, it took the world by storm. The Moto G was a sub-$200 phone with the internals of a $400 phone. it featured a 4.5-inch 720p LCD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB of storage, 5MP camera, 2020mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 at the time, since then it’s been upgraded to Android 4.4.2. Motorola then launched it just about everywhere in the world. In fact, it’s available on every carrier here in the US. That includes Verizon prepaid, Boost Mobile (Sprint’s prepaid), AT&T and T-Mobile. Motorola has said a few times that this was their most popular phone ever. Which shouldn’t be too surprising looking at their past. Where most devices were carrier exclusives. Now it looks like Motorola is launching a few more devices like the Moto G next month.

Specs leaked out for the XT1021, XT1022, and XT1025. The XT1021 is a regular single SIM model, the XT1022 is a dual SIM, and the XT1025 is a dual SIM with digital TV – likely for countries in Asia. It’s being reported that all three models have been approved in Brazil, so it’s likely to launch there first – where Motorola has a huge following, in fact that’s where the Moto G was announced and launched. According to Technoblog, the specs aren’t all that impressive, we’re looking at a 4.3-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5MP camera on the back, and dimensions of 4.91 x 2.55 x 0.24 inches. Making it a really thin device. So this is by no means a competitor to the Galaxy S5, or even a successor to the Moto X. But another budget option for those that don’t want to spend $700 on a new phone, and don’t need all these bells and whistles. Hopefully we’ll find out more about these smartphones from Motorola pretty soon. After all it’s slated to launch next month .
