Evleaks Teases An HTC Device Codenamed The M8 Prime, Could This Be The HTC M8 Max?

While we already suspect that there may be mini and max versions of the HTC One M8 on the way this year one device that we’re learning about just this afternoon is one that is called the HTC M8 Prime. If the name sounds a little bit familiar that’s because the word prime is part of the name for a rumored upcoming device from Samsung. A tentative name of course but none the less it’s a rumored name that has been floating around for a while about a more high end Galaxy S device. The HTC M8 Prime was just teased not too long ago by none other than infamous leaker evleaks, as seen on his twitter page.

He didn’t really specify anything about the device other than the name. The official tweet stated that we should forget the Ace, and what we’re really all waiting for is a device codenamed the M8 Prime. So that tells us a couple things, that HTC is probably working on a device that has an internal codename of HTC M8 Prime, and that the M8 Prime is obviously a variant of the HTC One M8, which could be an entirely new device but it could also be the codename for the larger version of the M8, equivalent to last years version of the HTC One Max. These are just speculations, but with no details to go off of why not shoot some ideas back and forth. Whatever the device ends up being we wonder if that codename is truly a codename and if so, will it end up making its way to the frontlines as the official name for the device? Or will it stay a codename as a reference for the phone internally at HTC?

In addition to potential mini, max, and prime version of the HTC M8, HTC and Sprint have just announced an exlusive version of the original HTC One M8, partnered together with high end audio company Harman/Kardon, to offer a special edition HTC One M8 that is bundled with a set of Harman/Kardon earbuds. What do you think the M8 Prime could be? Could this be the internal codename for the Max variant of the M8? or something else entirely? More details will surely pop up soon.
