Google Edu Device Setup Updates with Support for Android 4.4.3?

Thanks to Reddit, we are seeing that Google has updated the Google Edu Device Setup app to add support for Android 4.4.3 and non-Nexus devices. Now Android 4.4.3 isn’t yet available, so it’s basically confirmation that the Android 4.4.3 update is on its way real soon. Here’s the full changelog from the Play Store listing:

What’s New

Support for new Google Spreadsheets
Support for Android 4.4.3 and non-Nexus Tablets
Minor UI updates and bug fixes

So it doesn’t give us a ton of information but enough to tell us that Android 4.4.3 is imminent and we may even see it land as soon as today. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see it drop today. I mean it is Update Wednesday, as it’s known around here. And we’ve already seen Google add the Google Camera and Chrome Remote Desktop into the Play Store today. As far as we know Android 4.4.3 is just bringing bug fixes, and it’s mostly for Nexus devices as well. We also heard earlier today that the KTU84F is the final build for Android 4.4.3, which means it’s just about ready to be pushed out.

As soon as the update starts pushing out, you’ll be able to check into Android Headlines and see what devices are getting it already. Hopefully the updates come soon. As I know a lot of people are desperately waiting on this update to fix a lot of bugs on their Nexus 5. The update should hit the Nexus 4, 5, 7 2012, 7 2013, and the Nexus 10. Then start pushing out to the Google Play Editions. That includes the HTC One M7, One M8, Samsung Galaxy S4, LG G Pad 8.3, Sony Xperia Z Ultra, and the Motorola Moto G. We may or may not see this update hit skinned devices like the Galaxy S5, seeing as it is a small update and is mostly bug fixes for the Nexus 5, as we mentioned already. How many of you are anxiously awaiting this update? Let us know in the comments below.
