Today, Google Keep got updated as part of #UpdateWednesday as we all call it around here. The update brings a nice new user interface which is a bit more colorful now as well. The new slide-out menu is a bit different now. We’ve got the Notes, Reminders, Archive and Trash there along with the Feedback and Help menus. Almost making the menu button on other devices like the LG G2 useless.
The updated UI isn’t all that’s new today, we also have the ability to search through text within images. Which gives you an even bigger and more comprehensive database of notes and stuff. Google Keep has added some new List Settings as well to fix the way lists work in Google Keep. It allows users to select where lists are saved as well now. Many of us didn’t even notice that there is a trash bin, which I thought we always had. Guess not. So now if you accidentally delete a note or list, you can easily retrieve it, which is nice. But I’d just archive everything since the Google Keep storage doesn’t count against your Drive storage, as far as I know. But then again Keep doesn’t use much space anyways, and Google Drive Storage is pretty cheap as well.
Wonder what other Google apps will get updated today? Perhaps Search, or Play Music? We’ll have to wait and see. The update for Google Keep is pretty nice looking, and for those looking for the APK, yes we have it. For those that don’t know, you can download it from the link below, make sure Unknown Sources is checked in the Settings and then install it. It’s just that easy. Be sure to let us know what you think about the update in the comments down below.
