This morning, LG began sending out invites to an event on May 27th – which they are holding in 6 cities simultaneously – for what we all believe to be the G3 announcement. Now we’re seeing that another LG device was certified in Indonesia. Now typically we wouldn’t be writing about this, but it seems like this is the LG G3. Or at least a variant of the LG G3. According to the UAProf it looks like it’s sporting a 1920×1080 resolution display, along with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and LTE. Which may or may not be the LG G3, especially since we’ve been hearing for months that the LG G3 would feature a QHD display, that’s 2560×1440. This model was certified on Postel on April 22nd, so a little over a week ago. Now it’s likely that the software will change between now and May 27th, but the hardware should just about be final.
There are a lot of specs floating around the rumor mills right now for the LG G3. We’ve heard both the Snapdragon 801 and 805 coming to the LG G3, as well as both 2GB and 3GB of RAM. But the one thing we do know, it’s going to be a beast, as the LG G2 is still a beast and it’s been out for about 6 months now. We’ll probably see an even bigger display, and still have pretty small bezels as the LG G2 has. We’ve also already seen some images of the back of the LG G3 already, and it appears that LG has redesigned the back of the LG G3 a bit. Although the volume rocker and power buttons are still on the back. There seems to be some sort of heart rate sensor or something back there on the other side of the camera. Since Samsung added one in the Galaxy S5, I wouldn’t be surprised to see LG do the same thing. Although, with the G3 being announced this soon after the Galaxy S5, it may not be “because Samsung did it” as this stuff takes time.
Anyone else as excited for the G3 as I am?
