Only seven months after receiving the LG G2 to sell, Bell is adding the LG G2 to its ‘End of Life” list – as of April 15, the stores were told not to take any more orders for the LG G2. A tipster sent our source a screenshot from Bell’s internal system and we thank them for sharing that bit of information. The LG G2 can still be sold, but no additional stock can be ordered and the system lists these other ‘replacements’ for the stores to ‘suggest’ to their customers – Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini (not exactly sure about that one).
The LG G2 is a terrific device with a 5.2-inch Full HD display, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal storage. It has a 13MP main camera that takes great pictures…read our review, and a 2.1MP front facing camera for great video chatting or the occasional selfie. With a 3000mAh battery and an upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the LG G2 was a well received device by both the reviewers and customers.
This is a sure sign that the next generation, LG G3 is on the way for its projected summer arrival. It could be the flagship smartphone to beat this year – the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5 are already released and selling, but they both arrived BEFORE any new processors were out. Qualcomm is still selling its overclocked Snapdragon 800, although slightly reworked as the model 801, used in the new Samsung Galaxy S5. Some critics were saying that HTC and Samsung beat LG to the punch by releasing their flagships earlier than LG, thereby grabbing the anticipated customers ready to upgrade to a new smartphone.
If things work out and Qualcomm is able to have their new Snapdragon 805 ready for sale, then the LG G3 could be the first smartphone with this new processor – a big plus when it comes to competing on the mobile front. Other possible specifications could include the newer 5.5-inch QHD display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. With the Snapdragon 805 and QHD display, the LG G3 would be the king of the hill until the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes out in the Fall of this year to compete.
So while we hate to see the LG G2 fade away, it looks like the new LG G3 will be a worthy replacement…let us know if you are on Bell’s network and looking to get a LG G3 or are you still thinking about the LG G2…please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know what you think about the G2 and G3…as always, we love to hear from you.
