We’ve got a pretty juicy rumor here coming out of Android Police on this Friday afternoon. This comes from a few of their sources, so it’s important that we state that you take these rumors with a grain of salt. But you can still feel free to drool over what we are about to take a look at. First up is the Modular actions.
According to this rumor, Google is supposedly implementing some new modular actions soon. There is actually already some modular stuff in the latest Glass update XE16. Which had 4000-line ModularActionPhotos class which could be the start of these modular actions.
Then there’s ‘Ok Google Everywhere’ which basically brings the ‘Ok Google” out of just the Google Search app and into all the other apps on the device. Right now, Android Police is stating that it’s known as Ok Google Everywhere, but that might change before it’s released. Android Police also believes there would be an option inside Google Search to enable Ok Google Everywhere. Which I’d have to agree with. But it seems like they are taking the Touchless Control actions from the Moto X and taking them to every Android device. Which would be pretty cool. We’ll just have to wait and see how it impacts battery.
Next up there’s the new navigation buttons. Yep, Google’s changing them up once again. The last time we had new navigation buttons was with the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich. They’ve changed the way the back and recents buttons look. But they’ve also brought back the search button, although it’s just the Google logo, at least that’s what it looks like. It’ll be interesting to see how we get home, if that is indeed a search button with the Google logo.
So there you have it, more and more rumors. We probably won’t see any of this until Google I/O in June. How many of you are excited? Let us know in the comments below.
