New Version of Google Calendar Gets Leaked

After seeing a new version of Gmail last week, Geek.com has now leaked out the new version of the Google Calendar for Android. As far as the looks and UI go, it looks a lot like the version of Gmail we saw last week. Which is said to be part of the entire make over we’re going to see for all of Google’s apps soon as they push wearables with Android Wear later this year.

The biggest thing with the new calendar – which internally Google refers to the Calendar as Timely – is the UI. While it looks relatively the same, aside from some color changes. It does have more of a flat UI, which seems to be the new thing for design these days. As both iOS 7 and Samsung’s Touchwiz is all flat now. It actually looks really nice. Now remember that this leak may not be the final version, as Google is known to test several prototypes for the UI and features and more. According to Geek.com the two largest features that stood out to them was the social integration and the daily agenda. Which it’s nice to see more social integration into the calendar, hopefully it can be turned on/off  by the user though. Geek.com also said that the version of Google Calendar they used felt ready for the public and not still in beta. But we don’t have a release date just yet for the Google Calendar so we’ll just have to sit back and wait and see what happens.

I’m betting that we’ll see this version of the Google Calendar, as well as Gmail and other Google apps get this makeover at Google I/O. Which I’m also expecting a lot about wearables at Google I/O in late June. How many of you are excited to get this new version of the calendar? Let us know in the comments below.
