Rumor: Acer To Announce New Iconia B1-730HD Tablet With Intel Inside On 4/29

The date of Acer’s “A touch more connected” event is closing in and it seems like they might be announcing a new tablet at the event. The date is scheduled as April 29th which is next week, and along the other planned products we’ve heard rumors about it would appear that they could be geared up to announce a new tablet at the event, called the Iconia B1-730 HD. According to their teaser image they’ll be planning on launching multiple products though and not just the Iconia tablet as this isn’t a launch event for the single device. It looks they might be unveiling perhaps even a new Chromebook or a laptop of some kind. Our money is on a Chromebook for this year though to follow up the C720.

As for the Iconia B1-730 HD, it’s a 7-inch display sporting a resolution of 800 x 1,280, and comes powered by a dual-core Intel Atom z2560 CPU that clocks at 1.6 GHz. With that processor and the resolution this is an obvious entry level tablet meant to have a low cost and offer people looking for a budget device a new option. other specs include a 5MP rear facing camera and 1GB of RAM, and the option of 8GB or 16GB storage models with expandable memory through a micro SD card if you need more than what the device comes with onboard. While the tablet isn’t likely to provide you with the best performance if you want something extremely powerful, those lower end specs should be great for battery life with the 3,700 mAh battery that’s packed inside.

So far there isn’t any listings for this tablet on U.S. online retailers like Amazon or Acer’s own website, but it is listed up on Amazon Germany for â‚¬139, which should end up making this tablet cost around a similar price to the Iconia B1-720 from last year. The Acer event is only five days away so while we don’t have exact pricing or release dates for the tablet just yet, we’ll know soon enough and if you’re in the market for a new budget tablet you won’t have to wait long to see if this one fits the bill for you.
