We’ve already seen both the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 torn down and neither of them are all that easy to repair, but the Sony Xperia Z2 seems to be the exception as it appears to be pretty easy to repair comparatively. The folks at Mobile China took the time to tear the Sony Xperia Z2 apart – I certainly hope they know how to put it back together. But it is pretty easy to put together which is really nice, especially for those that take a look at these tear downs before buying a new smartphone. Once more, the tear down shows that its really easy to get to the motherboard of the smartphone which is one of the most important parts of the phone. So it’s great that you can access it easily.
The Sony Xperia Z2 has a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a microSD card that supports up to 128GB, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 20.7-Megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2.2-megapixel on the front, along with a 3200mAh battery and its running on Android 4.4.2 – KitKat. It’s a complete beast, and also Sony has stopped putting the permanent screen protector on their devices with the new Xperia Z2. Which was a great idea, and many of us are fans of not having that permanent screen protector.
So far the Sony Xperia Z2 is coming to the UK next month, but there’s no plans on it coming to the US just yet. We’re looking forward to seeing it come to the US, even though there aren’t any plans yet. Hopefully Sony can bring the Xperia Z2 to all the carriers in a reasonable amount of time, instead of 6 months later like Sony typically does, unfortunately.
