Finally. Yes, Finally Verizon has approved the update to Android 4.4.2 for the LG G2. They are the last US carrier to push out the update, even though the update has been sitting on Verizon’s servers for about a week now. The update includes a few changes, like the blue icons in the status bar are now white, we also get immersive mode, cloud printing and a few other goodies. The update has been approved and we should see it start rolling out in a few days. Most likely it’ll start rolling out on Monday. We’ll be sure to keep everyone posted. As far as the changelog goes, here’s what we’re looking at:
“Color Adjustment has been added; ‘Magnification Gestures’ label is now ‘Touch Zoom’ label ; ‘Shades’ label is now ‘Screen Shades’ label; ‘Captions’ have been added; ‘Touch and Hold Delay’ is now ‘Touch Feedback Time; ‘Speak Passwords’ label is now ‘Read Passwords’ label; ‘Power Button Ends Call’ label is now ‘Power Key Ends Call’ label; ‘Easy Access’ label is now ‘Accessibility Settings Shortcut’ label; OS upgrade to Android KitKat 4.4.2”
So lots of updates here on the Accessibility side. Verizon also improved Visual Voicemail on the LG G2. Like we said, the update should be heading out next week to all those LG G2 users on Verizon. And I know you’ve all been waiting patiently – okay not really that patient – for the update to hit your device. You can attempt to pull down the update by going into Settings > About Phone > Check for Updates and see if you can grab the update. But it’s likely not available just yet, so don’t go pulling your hair out yet.
