The HTC One (M8) Mini hasn’t even been announced yet, but according to @Evleaks it looks like it’ll be heading over to big red when it becomes official. Last year the HTC One Mini was an AT&T exclusive, and was actually a really nice device. It was one of my favorite devices of 2013 actually, even though it had a 4.3-inch display. The specs were slightly lower than the HTC One, but still pretty good. A 4.3-inch 720p display looks amazing, still.
The HTC One (M8) Mini is rumored to sport a 4.5-inch 1280×720 resolution display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6, 13MP camera on the back (no word on the front-facing camera), along with a gig of RAM. Along with 16GB of internal storage, also no word on if the microSD card slot is making it’s way to the mini from the HTC One (M8). The HTC One (M8) Mini will probably go on sale for about $99 on contract, which was the price of the HTC One Mini last year on AT&T. And since the HTC One (M8) is $200 on contract, it sounds likely.
The build will probably be the same as the HTC One (M8), but of course that’s not confirmed just yet, until we get an announcement. The HTC One (M8) Mini will likely look the same as the HTC One (M8), although it does appear that it won’t have the duo-camera and it won’t have the UltraPixel camera. Which will make a lot of people happy. But one has to wonder, is this what the future will be for HTC? I do like the UltraPixel camera, but I think it needs a few more megapixels. Give me a 8MP UltraPixel camera and I’ll be happy.
Are any of our readers excited for the HTC One (M8) Mini to be announced? Hopefully it comes to all the major carriers, as I think it could sell really well for HTC, especially at only $100 on contract and around $450-500 off contract. Let us know in the comments below.
