These days we all have to be extra careful with the passwords we use and create for various accounts that we have. Just this week we heard about eBay and PayPal having a security breach that forced them to require users to change their passwords. Coming up with a unique password is not easy at all, and then having to remember that password is another task at hand.
Soon Android users will have a little help with creating passwords and keeping those passwords safe. Back in November it was announced that 1Password was going to be released in beta form. Well the folks over at Agilebits are getting ready to launch their award winning app 1Password on Android June 10th. 1Password, uses a strong password generator to create a unique password for you. One of the nice things is that you can have it create the password to your liking, by adding characters of your choice. It will keep the passwords you create for all your accounts in a vault that is secure. All of your data is synced between all of your devices, so that its ready for you to use. Now there is a version of 1Password for Android called 1Password Reader, but it is very outdated and is pretty limited. One cool thing about the new 1Password for Android will be that users will be able to use all features for free until August 1st 2014. After that users will be able to add different features with in-app purchases.
“It is an entirely new and full-featured app, built for both phones and tablets!… It is also an experiment. All new features will be unlocked and free for everyone to use through August 1, 2014. After that, 1Password 4 for Android will go into a reader mode, and all features can be unlocked for an in-app purchase” There is no word on which features will have to be unlocked in 1Password for Android, or what each feature will cost. Hopefully we will get some more details as we get closer to launch. What do you use to manage your passwords? Let us know in the comments below!
