All the way from the Nexus One, to the Nexus 5, the Nexus lineup has had a lot of success. A Nexus device brings you the best of a pure Android experience to the palm of your hand without having to go through all of the bloatware that comes from the carrier, or even the device manufacture like LG or Samsung. So far three of the well known Android manufactures have had a chance to bring their design to the past Nexus devices and have done a pretty decent job at doing so. However the one manufacture that I am waiting to see have another crack at designing the next Nexus device is HTC!
HTC for awhile now has been putting out some great looking devices. Starting with the HTC One X back in 2012 and of course leading to the HTC One M8. When the HTC Nexus One was released back in January 2010, the device had a great little design to it. The form-factor of the device had a great feel in your hand when you picked it up to use it. To me the only bad part about the Nexus One’s design was the little trackball it had. We know that HTC is going to be sticking with the metal housing for most of their premier devices that hit the market, and I would put a lot of money on them putting out a Nexus device with the same type of housing that the HTC One M8 has to it, if and when, they are given the opportunity to create the next Nexus.
Not only is HTC having a great track record for having some amazing looking devices lately, but they have also been putting some great features into their devices. The last few phones that HTC has put out have not been overstuffed with features. HTC has carefully chosen what to put in the device, as we have heard from HTC Creative Director. Features like Boomsound, which gives the HTC One and HTC One M8 great audio quality for listening to music, or watching movies right on your device. The one thing that the past few Nexus devices have been lacking is great features that consumers are looking for. I would love to see an HTC Nexus device with Boomsound on it.
We are a little more than a month away from Google I/O, which takes place June 25th and 26th, where we might be hearing about who is going to be the company that gets the honor of designing the next Nexus device (Nexus 6?). History would make me think that HTC has a very good shot of being next in line. Both LG and Samsung have had two Nexus devices launch, were HTC has only had one Nexus device. I know I am not the only one waiting for a HTC Nexus device, as we have seen a ton of HTC Nexus Device Concepts appear here on AH. What do you think folks, would you like to see a new HTC Nexus device? Let us know in the comments below!
